The moment I saw DRAKE'S Laugh Now, Cry Later video, I knew my friend Destiny, the creative behind The King Herself & I needed to recreate it. We turned around the title to Cry Now, Laugh Later because let's be real. As Black women, in 2020, we've been grieving — what feels like at times continuously. But as we grieve, we also simultaneously hold onto the God given joy & deeply rooted hope within us. And as we navigate throughout life, we must continually choose to hold onto this hope & find this joy in our lives. to honor ourselves, our community, our ancestors, our resiliency, and our sisters like Breonna Taylor, who's life was viscously taken from her with no justice. We know that like so many others, Breonna is in a place now much more worthy of her beautiful spirit and the ethereal essence, that only Black women possess, than any space the confines of this world had to offer. So we know though we often cry now, we'll all be together one day, in perfect joy and peace, & laugh later 🕊🖤
